Ive been a customer for well over a decade! The food is amazing and the pizza is the top top top of the pizza scene. The owners are the friendliest and create a really great atmosphere to dine.
From the moment that I walked in the front door, I felt like family at Gio. The place screams warmth and the entire staff made me feel welcome. Kaileigh, my bartender and tour guide, helped me select a most fantabulous wine, a 2019 Red Blend called Prayers of Sinners that truly lived up to its description of being "deep & dark". The Gio Salad was a perfect mix of greens, protein and fresh goat cheese, and was complimented by a most delicious balsamic vinaigrette. For my entree I ordered the piccolo version of the Giovanna pizza, and I was not disappointed: A sinfully delectable combination of spicy (thick cut) salami, homemade sausage, hot peppers, San Marazano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and some of the freshest basil I've ever enjoyed! Because I could not have forgiven myself if I'd left Gio without having dessert, with a little more assistance from Kaileigh I ordered the cannoli, which was presented in such a way that I wanted to appreciate it prior to devouring it. Not only was the shell crispy and crunchy and flavorful, but the filling was unlike any cannoli filling I've ever had. It was almost like they took traditional ricotta/chocolate chip/sugar filling and magically created this creamy delight that makes you want to eat one after another after another. The coffee was fresh and hot, while the price was right on the money. I like this place so much that I'd plan my travel around it!
Decided to stop in for an early dinner. Nice restaurant with a bar with seating and a comfortable dining room with nice tables and booths. Service was friendly and fast and portions were filling. We tried the Gio scampi, and the chicken francese and the meals came with pasta and side salads and bread. The meal was tasty and enjoyable.
Truly delicious food! Gotta try the shrimp scampi appetizer--so good! Excellent pizza as well. Nice bar area, and great espresso martinis.
1st time there. Came across it randomly when trying to find a good Italian spot. Will 100% be coming back. Service was great. Food was delicious. Drinks were made well.
We had dinner at Gio's with my family Friday evening and it was amazing. The food was prepared perfectly and the service was exceptional. I enjoyed the Terra & Mare while my Brother In-Law had the Parmigiana. Both dishes were delicious. The other six family members had wonderful dishes as well. Thank you for the outstanding quality by Gio himself.
Update: I took my wife here for a nice Friday lunch date. She had the Gio salad and I had the chicken parmesan panini. I was worried the chicken parmesan would be too heavy for lunch but the bread is very light and the chicken is thin and delicious. She love the salad. I upgraded my side to broccoli rabe. Extremely garlicky. A little too oily but still delicious. Great place for a lunch date. Great atmosphere and delicious pizza. The eggplant appetizer is a hidden gem. I could just go for that and a Peroni and be happy. My son loves the guy making the pizza. He's very fun and the staff is attentive and friendly.
A nice Italian restaurant/grille that's actually open on Mondays. We went for dinner and were seated right away. Service was good for the most part. The pasta was great, and I hear their pizza is real good. So I'll probably be back for the latter.
The food is always good here. We had a farfalle dish with butternut squash and lump crab meat and Gio scampi. Both were excellent! We had Pistachio Creme Brulee for dessert. The service was very good also. Great place to go for a meal!
As a former NY’er it’s not easy finding good delicious pizza in the Lehigh Valley area. I must admit Gio Italian Grill is a must for anyone looking for anything close to NY style flavor pizza - freshly made. Service was exceptional as well. Highly recommend!!!
